Our Training Mission
Our goal at Rapid Results Dog Training is more than to simply train dogs; we also want to help dog owners have the best possible relationship with their dogs. Training is essential, but it is just a step (an important one) towards the goal of developing an understanding between dog and owner, and ultimately moving towards the kind of rewarding relationship that can make owning a dog such a joy. So yes, we teach dogs how to “come” when called, how to “heel” both on and off leash, how to “sit/stay” and “down/stay” through distractions, how to “stand” on command, how to go from a “front” to the heel position on command, how to stop jumping up on people, how to stop counter surfing, etc., etc., but we also discuss what we feel are the best ways to interact with dogs throughout the day. Ultimately, the relationship between dog and owner is the most important part of dog training.
Our techniques at Rapid Results Dog Training are designed to give you a well behaved and well trained dog in real world situations. The training takes place in your home and neighborhood and even in parks around other dogs and people. In other words, we train your dog through the distractions he is likely to see in everyday life.
Many training facilities offer beginning, intermediate, and advanced training courses. With our training, we take your dog from untrained to advanced in as little as 5 weeks and in nearly every case we can have your dog walking with you at heel, off leash, reliably, in less than 5 training sessions.
So when you’re shopping for a trainer (a good idea) be sure to ask what kind of results you can expect, and how long it should take to get them. Also ask if the trainer is willing to show you how well trained his or her dog is in any environment — for instance, in your front yard. That’s what we do at Rapid Results. We demonstrate how well trained our dogs are off leash right in your front yard.
The Five Session Program
With the Rapid Results program all aspects of basic obedience are covered in your home and neighborhood. Your dog will sit, heel, down, stand, stay and come on recall, off leash, reliably, after 5 weeks of training. Other behavioral problems like excessive barking, digging, jumping up on people, and attacking the door when the mailman comes, are also covered. This course is designed to transform your dog and to reassure him of his proper place in your family.
Many dogs, without proper guidance (knowing the house rules and understanding and complying with basic obedience commands) will shoot for the stars and try to establish themselves as the leader of the pack. It is this pack mentality — the dog’s natural tendency to try to rise in the ranks, or in some cases, his confusion about just what is expected of him — that often makes life with our valued and loved pets difficult.
